Hi there and welcome to The Radio Station Chat section of the Mearns Radio Forum. Here you can talk about things to do with the forthcoming Community Radio Station we hope to get up and running. From what type of programmes you'd like to the type of music you'd like to hear. Anything really. We'd particularly like to hear from anyone who listened to our original, short-term, broadcasts back in the late 90's and what you remember of them. We hope you enjoy the forum!

You do keep some funny hours, Mr Administrator sir. Or do you exist in a different timezone to the rest of us?
Anyway, happy posting everyone.
Do we need to get some separate threads going - e.g. to encourage the convenor, secretary and treasurer to blog their way through their progress with the licence application, setting up training, finding the money and researching the market? Somebody needs to set up some coconuts for the rest of us to knock down! Only trying to help, honest.

It will be on US time I guess ...
Suggest topics on Funding progress etc should be off line, but other things like ideas for programmes, shows publicity could be usefully discussed here .
Just back from holiday ....
Cheers
Stuart

You can change the time (and various other aspects of how you see the board) by clicking on [Profile] in the top banner and then clicking on - Modify Profile - . The dates and times section is down at the bottom.
As for discussing stuff outwith public gaze. Well I've thought of that. It's why I'm asking people from the Steering/Committee Group to identify themselves to me by means of the forums Private Messaging system, as Stuart has done. For now he has I can make him a Radio Type Person which will let him see something else...

I have long suspected that Mr. Admin is a vampire!

Apologies Chris. Due to the current general lack of activity on this forum I haven't been here myself for a month. In answer to your question we do not broadcast from the Whinwood transmitter. In fact we do not broadcast at all! The station is not, as yet, running.

hello everyone My name is Adele and I currently live in Aberdeen, I work in a community radio station called shmuFm we go live on Fm on the 20th of October at the moment we stream on the internet www.shmu.org.uk. I am moving to Inverbervie in the near future and wonderd what radio was on offer and then I discoverd you guys which is great! I am currently working at ShmuFm as a kind of trainer and development worker and have gained many skills and experiences there. I began as a volunteer then moved on to do my HNC Radio Broadcasting at Aberdeen college and am now self employed radio tutor. not sure how you have been getting on with your license but would be very interested in getting involved in the near future. Hi Adele. Apologies to you too for not replying sooner. If you click at the main website... www.mearnsradio.co.uk/...you'll see we've got a licence from OFCOM to broadcast from transmitters in Stonehaven, Laurencekirk and, handy for your future home, Inverbervie! ;D The big push is therefore on. The next meeting is Tuesday evening (18th) at Stonehaven Community Centre - 7.30pm. If you can't make that (it's short notice I know) then there'll be another next month. They're currently every third Tuesday. Feel free to just show up. We'll be happy to see you.

This week we decided to change the night of our monthly meetings. Some people can't manage on Tuesdays because of other commitments. The consensus was we would try Wednesdays for a while. So the next meeting is on 17 October (7.30 at the Stonehaven Community Centre) and thereafter on the third WEDNESDAY of the month.

Hi I have just tried to fill out a volunteer form on your website and due to me not having the correct software it will not let me send it. I would like to volunteer to be a Radio Presenter, I have approx 10 years experience in broadcasting which was gained at a local hospital radio station in the North East. Could someone please email me with details on how to apply. gordondunlop1974@yahoo.com Many Thanks Gordon
